The medication schedule app built for caregivers — and for you

Updated July 10, 2026

Caregiver tracks any real-world medication schedule — multiple times a day, specific weekdays, fixed courses, “with food” instructions — with a live countdown to each due dose, one-tap logging of who gave it, and everything shared with your family. Free, unlimited medications, and it works for your own meds too.

Why is a caregiver's medication app different from a pill reminder?

A personal pill reminder assumes one person, one phone: it buzzes, you swipe. Caregiving breaks both assumptions. The person taking the medicine often isn't the person managing it; several people share the job across shifts and days; and the schedule itself is messier — half tablets, eye drops four times a day, an antibiotic course that ends Friday, a tablet only on Mondays and Thursdays. A caregiver's tool has to model all of that and keep everyone honest about what's been given. That's the job Caregiver was built for.

What schedules can it handle?

How do reminders work?

Two layers. Push notifications: turn on reminders in Settings and each device gets a notification when a dose is due or an appointment is coming up (on iPhone/iPad, install the app to the Home Screen first — iOS 16.4+). The Today screen: every dose due today, in time order, each with a live countdown — “in 2h 15m”, “due now”, “45m overdue” in amber so it's impossible to miss. Once given, the dose flips to “Given · by [name] · [time]” for the whole household — the shared log that prevents the expensive mistakes, missed and double doses.

Can I track medications for more than one person?

Yes — a household can care for several people (a parent and an aunt; both grandparents), each with their own medication list and schedule. Every medicine is labelled with who it's for, and filter chips switch the view between them. The free plan covers one person cared for; Plus and Family raise that to three and five.

Can I use it for my own medications?

Absolutely — Caregiver doubles as a personal medication tracker. Create a household with yourself as the person cared for and you get the same tools: your full schedule, due-dose countdowns when you open the app, one-tap logging, and a complete history of what you took and when — useful for doctor visits. Add your partner to the household and someone you trust can quietly keep an eye on things, or take over during an illness. Many people start managing a parent's meds and end up adding their own.
